Learn to Play
If you’re brand new to the game, this is where you start! Learn the pickleball basics in a small group setting with a certified instructor. You’ll learn scoring, rules, court positioning, and be ready to join recreational play sessions in the future. Paddles and balls are available for use. Please wear court shoes.
Pickleball 102
The next step after Learn to Play! For new players (2.0-2.5 skill level) wanting to learn more about the game through fundamental work and strategy tips. The session varies week to week, working on building different skills each week: serves and returns, dinks, 3rd shot drops, and putting it all together. Players should have a basic understanding of how to play.
DUPR Sessions
Curious what your rating is? Find out with our DUPR sessions. Sign up for the session your current rating falls into. Thirty matches are required for a verified rating. Once you hit a higher rating (for example, a 3.0 hit a 3.5 DUPR rating), you must play in at least one session at that higher level and hold the score in order to be officially changed to the next level.
Skills & Drills
A variety of Skills & Drills sessions are available to help hone skills, learn strategy, and level up your game. Sessions range from Laura’s Bootcamp to Morning Lessons and cover a wide range of skill levels.
Mixers & Social Events
Enjoy the social aspect of the game with our mixers & social events! Mixers invite all skill levels to play while enjoying snacks and drinks at our self-serve tap wall. Mixers are 21 & up only. Other events include college nights, puzzle competitions, Euchre socials, and singles mixers.
Sessions by Skill Level
Novice play: 2.5 – 3.0
Have the basics down? Sign up for a novice session! This group is for brand new 2.5-3.0 players. Come join a low-key, round-robin format while continuing to learn scoring, court positioning, and rules.
2.5 – 3.0
This session is still ideal for newer players or entry-level skills but players have a better understand of scoring, rules, and court positioning. Players can sustain a short rally with players of equal ability. Basic ability to keep score.
3.0 – 3.25
This group is for mid 3.0’s through 3.25’s who have improved stroke development with moderate shot control with both forehand and backhand. Consistently gets in serves and returns with limited ability to control depth. Increased consistency in a dink rally with limited control, height and placement. Is starting to understand variations of pace. Is starting to have success with drop shots and understands the importance as a means to get up to the net. Moves quickly towards the non-volley zone (NVZ) when the opportunity is there. Acknowledges the difference between a hard game and a soft game and is starting to vary own game during recreation and tournament play. Can sustain short rallies. Is learning proper court positioning.
3.25 – 3.5
This group is for 3.25 – 3.5’s who have improved stroke development with good shot control with both forehand and backhand. Increased consistency in a dink rally and understands the importance of working the point. Is starting to have success with drop shots. Moves quickly towards the non-volley zone (NVZ) when the opportunity is there. Acknowledges the difference between a hard game and a soft game and is starting to vary own game during recreation and tournament play. Can sustain rallies and has good court positioning. DUPR rating of 3.25 and above.
3.5
This group is for mid-high 3.5’s who have directional and consistent forehands and backhands. Who hit the balls with medium to hard pace, can block consistently. Can match and increase or decrease pace on the ball. Serves and returns with consistency and depth. Can make a 3rd shot drop but chooses to drive more often than drop. Offensive lobs occasionally with some success but still lobs from the baseline too often. Moves to the NVZ and can sustain a dink rally but tends to get impatient and speeds up too soon. Understands and has good court positioning and is beginning to recognize the importance of partner play. *Approval for the weekends is now in place since the weekend groups are more competitive then the weekday morning groups. If you are continuously stuck on the bottom court you will need to move to the 3.25-3.5 group **Dupr rating of 3.5+ required to play in this and all 3.5 groups**
3.75 – 4.0
For experienced and strong 3.75-4.0+ Players. Players are expected to know the game, work well with their partners and be in the correct court position throughout the game. Utilizing drop shots, engaging in dink rallys to keep the ball unattackable as well as resetting points to slow the game back down and regain the offense. Ability to block and control as a response to hard and fast balls is a necessity. ***DUPR rating 3.75 or higher required*** We have removed the auto-registration off the waitlist– you will receive an email to sign-up when a spot opens.
4.0+
***DUPR rating 4.0 or higher required*** DUPR below 4.0 or no proof of rating via Dupr will be declined! There is an approval requirement on this event– this is so we can keep the play strong and be notified of all registrants. For experienced and strong 4.0+ Players.
